We continue to operate with Chef Craig West, A California Culinary Academy, San Francisco Graduate , who was personally trained by Nino. Chef West brings a vast medley of tastes to Mamma Susanna’s after working at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills for 2.5 years.

We pride ourselves in being a neighborhood restaurant. The relaxed family owned restaurant atmosphere, makes Mamma’s a Cornerstone in the East Sacramento area.

It’s all about the ambiance! From the art on the walls constantly changing, and the eclectic garden out back it’s a great place to enjoy lunch or coffee with friends or a good book. If you have a group who wants to meet or you just need a quiet room to knock out some studying, there’s a “secret” conference/study room with plenty of room to sit down and plug in.

Along with the cool garden and sweet ambiance the Coffee Garden offers a variety of tasty treats including salads, sandwiches, pizza, and soups in the winter. Plus the coffee house standard scones, muffins, and quiche. We have a wide array of hot coffees and teas… or, if it’s just that hot out, we’ll blend it right up so you can beat that Sacramento heat!

Our restaurant/wine bar offers 58 boutique-style wines from around the world by the 3 oz taste, 6 oz glass or bottle. Our artisanal food menu is created with wine in mind, and offers small plates for sharing, salads and sandwiches for lunch, and larger plates for the dinner hour.

The retail store offers over 500 selections of wine, including multiple verticals, hard-to-find cult wines, and all wines served by the glass in the restaurant. We also offer private wine storage to provide members with the optimal cellaring conditions for their collections.

The menu is wonderfully prepared by chef extraordinaire Ron Fleming. He has taken his best dishes and created a “New American” cuisine, which Ron says is like “Californian”, only in larger portions. You’ll notice a definite influence of Italian, French, Asian and Southwestern in the menu selections, which include fresh seafood, pasta, oak-grilled meats, salads and appetizers.

For those into the salad mode, 4th Street Grille offers a wide selection of salads, whether you enjoy just a patch of greens or a toss that is out of this world. If you are craving a unique and tasty appetizer, you will be more than satisfied as you choose from a variety of selections.

The entree portion of the menu includes 4th Street Grille’s signature smoked pork loin with grilled Granny Smith apples, which have been cooked in whiskey and brown sugar, and is served with creamy mashed potato and a fresh vegetable. Several other magnificent meals are offered, including a solid selection of vegetarian dishes. Fresh seafood and pasta specials are featured daily, along with specialty desserts that are to die for.

You will find their staff to be friendly and accommodating. The servers are very knowledgeable and have a lot of fun doing their jobs, which makes your dining visit most pleasurable.

Located at the corner of Fourth Street and L, 4th Street Grille serves lunch Monday-Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and dinner Monday 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday -Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. (Friday and Saturday to 11:00 p.m.). The fully stocked 50-foot bar is very friendly and stays open later than the restaurant. You can stop by before or after shopping, the theater, movies or community center events. It’s an ideal choice for a business lunch or a leisurely dinner. You may want to be sure you visit the Grille more than once because the menu has enough items to bring you back again and again.

We offer a wide selection of premium cocktails and local California Wines. Some of our featured cocktails include the Fire Starter Martini and the Pomegranate Crush. If you’re in the mood for a simple domestic beer or prefer Johnny Walker Blue Label we have it all.
