ICANN ERRP For Domain

At SacBusiness, we usually use a company to manage your website addresses, otherwise known as domain names. Companies like these are called Registrars. The one we use is called Moniker. Domain names are renewed annually. (It’s possible to pay registrations multiple years in advance too.) When a domain is up for renewal, SacBusiness receives a notice and we reach out to our customer to ensure that the domain is renewed in a timely manner. However, there is an agency that is part of the Internet bureaucracy called ICANN. (ICANN stands for Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers. Now you know.)

ICANN is often the last to know that a domain registration has been renewed. So their automated systems send out scary messages like the example below. If you’ve been invoiced by SacBusiness for your domain or received an email from us that your domain has been renewed, you can safely ignore this message, as frightening as it looks.
